A unique portable record player from Radio Shack and Realistic. The back piece comes off to reveal the platter of the record player. Also has AM radio. Your kid needs one.
My sister received the ladybug record player from Santa in the late 1970s. We both enjoyed it. It was portable and used batteries if not able to plug in. Which was often, since we liked to gather outside with friends and our records. And having a radio built in was great too. Loved “The Ladybug”
Thank you for bringing to light designs from decades past. I especially like the 60s and 70s designs when space age and streamline were popular
My pleasure. In researching this record player, I found the there were many more produced in Japan and some were green.
Can anyone tell me what stylus / needle this uses or where online I can download an owners manual. Thanx
I think this is the one you need: https://www.turntableneedles.com/Astatic-N8-7S-or-N8-7D-our-Needle-700_p_1310.html
@ John Williams – Yes I need to replace the needle on my ladybug as well. My dad used to love going to Radio Shack and he gave it to me when I was 4 years old (Christmas ’77). Were you able to find anything about the needle? Its not the usual cartridge type and I have not been able to find anything about it online.
